Not your generic poet, Emmet O’Brien first burst onto the Irish scene in March 2017. In his first year alone he released the book A Perspective From The Corrupt Mind Of The Youth, where he discussed various taboo subjects such as substance abuse, religion and everything to do with the session. An astonishing live performer, throughout 2018 he appeared at numerous festivals including Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Knockanstockan and Bare in the Woods as well as releasing his second book Yup Ouveh. A third, The Illusion of Perception, followed in March 2019 and was launched to a sold out crowd at Poetry Ireland. The poet has converted it into a play, showcased at the Royal Theatre, Waterford in July. Two more plays, one written in collaboration with The Poet Geoff, are in production and he is currently working a new mini series called The Canal. Joining Word Up Collective in 2019, he has hosted his own showcase at the Electric Picnic and is currently working on new projects.
